Committed to arts education in the community, Frazer Studios is now offering a number of classes to expose, enhance, and enrich the lives of local children, teens and adults through experiences in clay.  Classes are filling for 2007 and will run continuously year round.  If you have missed the start date, please feel free to contact us, we would be glad to accommodate you with prorated tuition or special arrangements.

Family Workshop Saturdays!  10-12pm or 12:30-2:30pm

Bring the whole gang along to play in the mud!  Stay the full 2 hours or leave when you're done!  Different clay forming techinques will be taught to the group at each workshop.  One project will be completed each Saturday and will be fired, ready for glazing the following week.  Great for Holiday gift making!

$7/ week ages 10 and under

$10/ week ages 11+

(two week minimum to complete project)

 

 

Ceramics for Young People  3-4:30pm, Monday - Thursday

Ages 3-5 with an adult, Tuesday or Thursday

Ages 6-8 Monday

Ages 9-12 Wednesday

This class will explore basic handbuilding, glazing and pottery wheel techniques.  Through fun demonstrations and discussions, students will learn the fundamentals of pinch, coil, slab, and solid form construction methods while creating four unique projects.  Students will also experience the pottery wheel with direct assistance from the instructor.  Firing and glazing will complete the course as the students finish each project.  Emphasis will be placed upon the development of problem solving skills and individual creative expression while exploring the medium.  Fees will cover all materials and firing of work.  Parents are welcome to join their child with an extra lab fee if they wish to create their own project(s).

$95 per student.  Parent lab fee $15/ project.

Private Instruction  for individuals and small groups

Private instruction is available for all ages and skill levels.  Dates and times will be arranged between students and instructor.

Fee:  $20/ hour plus cost of materials and model where applicable

Reduced rates apply to small groups of 2 or more students.

 

Life Casting

Professionally made castings from life.  Hourly rate includes, design, preparation, materials and mold construction.  Finished art pieces are an additional charge.
